pH and Cancer:  Acidic pH Levels Open the Door to Cancer

Normalizing pH Levels Can Help Prevent Cancer & Other Diseases

There is plenty of research showing the link between pH levels and cancer. Cancer thrives in an acidic environment, and doesn't survive in an normal, more alkaline environment. This has been proven in many lab studies over and over. Taking action to make your body more alkaline is vital in preventing diseases such as Cancer and for good general health. 

Unfortunately...the majority of the foods and drinks we consume are acidic, such as meat, grains and sugar, with sodas, energy drinks, beer and wine also being highly acidic.  Even coffee has a low pH level. So unless you have been eating a very healthy diet, full of fresh fruit and vegetables, and drinking the correct water, your body is probably way too acidic. This creates a very good environment for cancer or other diseases and illness to thrive in.

In normal cirumstances, the blood stream of your body wants to be at 7.4 pH.  The cells and tissues throughout your body can easily fall below 7.0 pH (neutral) due to the "acidic" things in our diet that we eat and drink.  Too much acidity is an underlying factor in many diseases such as diabetes, arthritis, and fibromyalgia. Many doctors will tell you that if you balance the pH levels in your diet, then your body has an opportunity to function as normal, in a healthy way.

According to Keiichi Morishita in his book, Hidden Truth of Cancer, when your blood starts to become acidic, your body deposits acidic substances (usually toxins) into cells to allow the blood to remain slightly alkaline. This causes your cells to become more acidic and toxic, which results in a decrease of their oxygen levels, and harms their DNA and respiratory enzymes.

Over time, he theorizes, these cells increase in acidity and some die. These dead cells themselves turn into acids. However, some of these acidified cells may adapt in that environment. In other words, instead of dying - as normal cells do in an acid environment - some cells survive by becoming abnormal cells.

These abnormal cells are called malignant cells. Malignant cells do not correspond with brain function nor with our own DNA memory code. Therefore, malignant cells grow indefinitely and without order. This is known as cancer.

As you can see, Morishita is describing, from a different viewpoint, the link between pH and cancer, a process by which low oxygen levels turn some cells cancerous. Alkaline water (including the water in cells) holds a lot of oxygen. Acidic water holds very little oxygen. So the more acidic your cells are, the less oxygenated they will be. To make matters worse, the fermentation process cancer cells use to produce energy creates lactic acid in the body, which further increases acidity and reduces oxygen levels.

As you learn more about pH and cancer, you find there is a long history of reversing cancer or at least slowing it down, simply by alkalizing the body. It is one of the basic strategies in the battle against cancer and for improving your health in general.  While we are not saying that Alkaline water is a cure for Cancer, it also cannot harm you to drink it daily.  We all need water to sustain life, afterall our bodies are 70% water.  Doesn't it make sense to drink the healthiest water available?  The high pH level of natural Alkaline water can benefit the health of young and old alike. Animal studies have also shown the benefits of Alkaline water.  Some fascinating Japanese research with 40,000 chickens illustrates the health benefits of alkaline water. All received the same feed, but one group was given regular ground water and the other group mineral alkaline water. After one month, the mortality rate of the chicks on the alkaline water was one-eighth the rate of the regular water group. After two months on the alkaline water, diabetic animals demonstrated a 34% reduction in blood sugar levels as compared with the regular water group; also noted were drops in cholesterol values. Most impressive were the cancer results. Alkaline Water (above 7.0 pH) clearly has many health benefits and should be a part of each person's daily diet.  Everyone needs water to survive, but drinking the "wrong" water such as tap water or inferior "acidic" bottled water disguised as "purfied" water and can do more harm than good if it is acidic. Know the pH of your water and make sure it also has the electrolytles and minerals you need for good health.  There are many differences in bottled water.  Do your homework.
